How it Started

All my life I have been a river rat, a paddler, jon boater, basically anything river, so that is basically where my love of paddling started. In 2016 a good friend of mine, Shane Perrin called me out of the blue to see how I was doing, after a long conversation he asked me if he could custom build me a board to fit my size, at the time I was over 400lbs. I was honored and floored that someone would do this for me. After a couple months I drove out to St Louis to pick up my new board. Once I arrived he took me down to the Meremac river where he basically threw the board in and me on it and gave me some pointers and I was off. 9 miles later I was beat, exhausted and my feet were killing me and I loved every minute of it, I was hooked. Fast forward a year and we opened Show Me SUP in 2017 with 9 cheap paddleboards and a little hope. 

Today we still manage a smaller fleet of boards, around 18. This keeps my groups smaller so we can put more time and focus on the customers we teach. We Opened with the same mindset and goal that Shane had for me, "to put anyone, no matter their ability and size on a board", Today, once again with the help of Shane we have even put folks bound to wheelchairs on paddleboards safely. 

We are also dealers for 2 of the best paddleboard manufacturers in the country SOL Paddleboards & POP Board Co. Both are smaller companies with giant hearts and the same crazy love for water as us.
